Gute Nachrichten von Firefox…

Das wohl nervigste Problem bei der Benutzung von Firefox ist der exzessive Gebrauch von Arbeitsspeicher, der das Arbeiten manchmal zur Qual macht und gelegentlich zu Neustarts zwingt, besonders wenn man mit Tabs arbeitet.

Thanks, definitely a blog worth to read. I actually heard about Twine in some Web 2.0 summit video and entered my email there (IIRC). I am still wondering actually how locked in this platform will be.

I am not sure I like e.g. FreeBase as it’s sort of doing the same thing as Wikipedia does but again in a more closed fashion IMHO. Why have x collections of data is the main question. In my idealistic world you’d help wikipedia to mark it up better instead of rolling your own but of course that’s no business model

yes, thanks for getting the word out. the more eyes we can get to look at this, the better!

i’m currently very busy working on a client project where i’m getting some hands-on experience with plone.app.relations. this may or may not become handy when dealing with the abovementioned site-wide comment tree, as it supports relationship chains out of the box. if still end up needing a catalog, though, it might be better to drop plone.app.relations, as things would definitely become too heavy-weight, then.

but i’m keeping an open mind for it and plone.app.relations is really rather neat to use…

Suggestions: it should be possible to obtain a cross-blog RSS feed on a given keyword (a kind of site-local social bookmarking); and in the same vein it should be possible for someone other than the author (with appropriate permissions) to add keywords to a post.
Of course, neither of these is strictly blogging specific! I wonder if PloneOntology is the place to go?

christian, thanks for the nice roundup. as we just talked about all of the above at the cafeteria at the conference, you already know about my opionions but “for the record” i can state that they are mostly on our agenda already and if not will make nice additions. also, kai and i are basically going to do a ‘double-sprint’ on commenting together with matthew and paul, who are working on syndication. this will hopefully solve some of the issues right here at the sprint

Christian Scholz has posted some thoughtful comments on blogging in Plone. He mainly discusses Quills, but some of his previous experiences are now outdated……
